Each year, the
MFN sponsors three full-day events. Three of these are 1-day
Facilitator Conferences (Winter, Spring, Fall). We have tromprarily
retired the fourth event - a 1- or 2-day Skills Development Workshop
(Summer). Other special interest group activities are planned
and organized as needed. These events are held at various locations
in the greater Chicagoland area.
The purpose of these events
is to provide learning and networking opportunities for the broad
spectrum of people who are charged with planning, designing and facilitating
many kinds of business meetings in a variety of settings. Programs
presented are relevant across the private, public, academic, military
and not-for-profit sectors and include pragmatic strategies and concepts
useful for small, medium and large-sized groups. Programs also
cover the application of various techniques and technologies to assist
in group management, team development, collaborative decision-making,
business process improvement and time management.
Presenters at these events
have included well - known subject-area experts, authors, trainers,
consultants as well as organization members. Program formats
have included interactive-participatory workshops, hands-on demonstrations
and lecture-presentation seminars. Event attendance averages
between 50 and 80 participants. Certain events have attracted
over 100 participants.
