Opportunity for contract/independent facilitators and
consultants:
A major heavy manufacturer headquartered in the metropolitan Detroit
area is about to embark on a major initiative to improve its plant safety
record. This initiative is supported as a joint program of union and management.
To deploy this program the company needs twelve to fifteen highly skilled
contract facilitators. These facilitators must have demonstrated experience
in the following:

Facilitation and coaching
-
Manufacturing operations
-
Joint union/management programs
-
Plant safety
The project will commence with a Train the Trainer program on February
27-28, 2001. There is a guarantee of 12 days of work plus travel days through
April 13th, and a very strong likelihood of an additional 30+
days through August 2001.
The compensation schedule is industry competitive and includes travel
and expenses.

Assure all employees are able to identify hazards in the workplace

Teach people how to work safely once hazards are identified

Assure that all employees understand processes for removing hazards before
and after they occur

Assure effective feedback and total involvement in continuous improvement
of processes that eliminate hazards in the workplace

Focus on total enterprise responsibility and accountability for employee
health and safety

Train all levels of employees to become active participants in the safety
and health process

Accomplish injury reduction goals and initiatives that positively impact
all other aspects of Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale
-
Permit the Local Joint Health and Safety Committees to function as consultants
to local leadership and management

Elevate Safety & Health as an integral part of the companies operating
principles
-
Establish
(our company) as the benchmark for Safety and Health in

industry
The core foundation of the program will be that only through total
enterprise ownership and mobilization can optimal health and safety results
be achieved.
